SURNAMES:NASH
I have found my WILLIAM NASH on the 1860 US Census Records in the Kelly Township, Carter County, Missouri. He shows being 57 years of age, born 1802, in North Carolina.
He is listed with: PHRONIA NASH age 22 born Illinois
PERSON NASH age 14 born Illinois
JOHNATHAN NASH age 12 born Illinois
VIANNA NASH age 2 born Missouri
They are living next door to a JASPER PENNINGTON age 25, school teacher, born Missouri Listed with Jasper is:
Linda Pennington age 18 born Missouri
Margaret NASH age 55 born Kentucky
Jackson NASH age 12 born Missouri
Sally NASH age 9 born Missouri
I am trying to find out any further information, of any kind, on my WILLIAM NASH. I know that he was living in Montgomery County, Illinois, in 1850. That he had children there by his first marriage.
WAS PHRONIA as second wife, or possibly a daughter/daughter-in-law? Were these other children his and her or possibly his grandchildren?
Were they related to the MARGARET NASH who is living next door with JASPER PENNINGTON? I know for a fact that the VIANNA NASH, age 2, shown in 1860, and another sister ELVIRA NASH born between 1867 and 1870, are found in the home of the eldest son of WILLIAM's, a Wright Nash, on the 1870 US Census Records, in Verdigis, Kansas. DID WILLIAM and PHRONIA die in the late 1860s? What about the other children? I would also like any information on the family of JASPER PENNINGTON, school teacher, who is listed next door, in 1860. Any help would be very much appreciated. This family has been my brick wall for years. If William and Phronia Nash died between 1860 and 1870, would there possibly be burial records somewhere that I could search for, or did they keep these records in those days? I know that Carter County was organized March 10, 1859, from Oregon, Reynolds, Ripley and Shannon Counties. I also know that we had NASH family in Shannon County in 1850 and 1860. They were in District 93, Shannon County in 1850, and in Moore Twp., in Shannon County in 1860. My question is: Are these two townships in close relation to where Kelly Twp., was located in Carter County in 1860. Could my WILLIAM NASH had been living near a brother John W. Nash and wife Hannah, before Carter County was split off and organized? I also have my family tree, "The Webs We Weave" posted on Tribal Pages. Is there any possibility of posting my website address and Password needed to view the site. I currently have over 13,800 family and extended family members listed, many of them from Missouri. If so, the address is:
http://www.tribalpages.com/tribes/jdwafford
The Password needed to view the site is the state in which I now live: Oregon
Thank you, Joyce Nash - Wafford Brookings, OR

Hello, I have been trying to locate my Campbell families that moved from Shannon and Madison Co., Mo. to Carter Co., MO. Elias(Elisha) Campbell married Mery E Crossling or Crosslin about 1880, and they lived in Madison Co., Mo. for awhile (1880) and then they are on the 1900 census of Carter Co., Mo. Then she and the 2 daughters are on the 1910 census of Carter Co. I would like to find out more about this family, if anyone there can correspond with me regarding them, that would be great. I have not been able to find their marriage record either, not in Madison Co., or Shannon Co. Elias was born in Shannon Co. in 1852/60.
