SURNAMES: RANDOLPH
RANDOLPH, Burton b in Adair Co KY 1818; mrd Elizabeth WARREN in 1849 (dau of Stephen WARREN and Sena HOLOMAN). Believe Burton RANDOLPH to be the son of Absolem RANDOLPH and his first wife Elizabeth Harrison BLAIR. Absolem moved to Reynolds Co MO in 1829 with 8 children and his 2nd wife Matilda GORDON (mrd 1826). There was another young man - Hiram RANDOLPH who lived near Burton whom I believe to be his older brother. Hiram and his wife sold land in 1867 and disappeared off the face of the earth. Would like to locate Hiram RANDOLPH and also get proof that Burton RANDOLPH is the son of Absolem RANDOLPH. Have a lot of information on Burton RANDOLPH and his descendents that I am willing to share with anyone researching this RANDOLPH line. Any help on this, Thanks in advance. Jodie

NAME: Jim
SURNAMES: ROPER
I'm Jim Brasher in Albuquerque, in need of help in finding my great grandmother Josie Roper. According to my great grandfather's railroad papers she died in 1898 while living in Ellsinore. He said she died in childbirth having my grandmother, Betty Mae Brown. Josie was married to Septimus Brown in 1897. Betty Mae's death certificate in 1953 gives her date of birth as July 6, 1899 which would be one year after her mother died. I have tried to get information from the state with no return for my money. Maybe someone would know how to find where she is buried. I'm at a brick wall.
Thanks
Jim

Looking for info on the location of Poca Store or Polka Valley in 1900 Carter County. These places were named on the Marriage License of my Great-Grands, James Stringer & Rosie Weston, md. 5/19/1900 by S.W. Dirikson, Minister of Gospel.
James & Rose both gave Poca Store as their places of residence, and the minister gave Polka Valley as the place of marriage. James Stringer worked for the lumber company , as did Rose's father, James Weston.

SURNAMES: GATES
I am searching for information in regard to the Gates family. George W. (born May 1864 in Ohio) and Emma (nee Hooper) (born July 1869 in MO) Gates weree married in 1887. They had five children, with three living by the time of the 1900 Census of Carter County, but I cannot find this family by the time of the 1910 census. The family was in Grandin in 1900, and believe they have moved to the Clear Lake area of Washington by 1902. The children were:
Robert, born 1901, James C. born 1899, Vassil born 1894, and Lizzie born 1897... all born in Mo. Emma's parents were Louisa Hooper (born Oct. 1842 in MO.,) and Andrew Hooper (born Nov. 1822). I have been unable to contact any from this family. We are descendents of the James Gates family. James died in Seattle WA and his borhter Robert died in Aberdeen Washington. both had been shingle weavers by trade.
Regards,
Linda Hargreaves
