O'DELL and m2 William PHELPS); Ellen (m. Benjamin TAYLOR); Zantilley Sarah (m. John BOYER); John B. (may have never married); Mary Elizabeth (my great grandmother - m. Morgan Dameron O'DELL); Martha M. (m. Mr. BLACKWELL); Nancy J. Jr.; and Thomas H. Bluford died in 1900. He's buried at Robertson "Owl Roost" Cemetery in Ellsinore, Carter County, MO. G.W. and son, Emmert "Oreb" LOCKE signed a petition to change the name of the town now called Fremont, Mo. At that time the town was called McDonald and East McDonald, this was in 1907. Believe she was legally married to C. Eugene PORTER, however, date and place are unknown at this time. The PORTERS arrived in Carter County in late 1913 or late 1914 where PORTER purchased 10 acres of land near Hunter, MO. Effie PORTER died January 8, 1917 and is buried at Hunter, MO. Jefferson City states there is no death record on file there. Effie PORTER's children were Harold BUICK, Russell PORTER, Clifford PORTER, Hattie PORTER, and Lawrence PORTER. Effie PORTER was my husband's grandmother. Understand that Mr. Porter was employed for a time with Munger Land Development Co. There was a accident with Clara shooting another woman that was having an affair with Clara's husband, Lewis and her also shooting two men that broke into her home. I was wondering if there might have been any newspapers back in that part of the state at this time period? Lewis also worked for the railroad at the time, I was wondering how I can obtain records of him being an engineer for the local railroad. The first time I used the internt to search for my PYEATT family, I found them on the 1910 Carter County MO. Census (Johnson Township Dist. 14) This is what I know PYEATT Gabril W. (Washington Byrd)-33 and Mary A. (Azalee "MCKINNEY)- 30. Gabril, Mary and their 5 sons were on the 1910 Census. I do not have marriage records, or birth info. on either but I've been told Mary Asalee (McKinney) Pyeatt was from Ripley Co. I also believe that Gabril Washington Byrd Pyeatt's father was William Pyeatt and mother Dianna (?) from St. Genevieve or Jefferson Co. MO.

Some of their ch married in Carter Co., MO. Joshua and Martha Lorene's ch: Mariah Caroline (b. 1866), Sarah Hettie (MINE - b. 1869 at Paint Rock), Mary E., Sabra (Sadie - b. 1870), Alfred, Julia A. (m. a Womack), and Ruth. Of course, I have an uncle who claims there is a family story that we are related to Robert Morris, Signer of the Declaration of Independence but I've never found the connection. I am trying to find my great aunt Pearl GREEN. She was born 1890 in Carter
Co. She married D C DAWSON in 1906 and had a son named Fearl/Ferril DAWSON who
was born 1907 Fearl died 1962. I also think that Feral may have been raised by
my great grandparents, Robert and Martha GREEN. Pearl later went on the marry
Edgar O'DELL in 1911 and then married Benjamin VINEYARD in 1913. I have found
her in the US Census in 1920 in Reynolds County with Ben and 3 little boys. I
need to find where she may be buried or any other family members that may be
currently living.

I am looking for info. on the family of William N. SUTHERLIN. In 1904 he
was awarded guardianship of Sarah Jane and Samuel TAYLOR. Sarah Jane was my
step-greatgrandmother. She was born Sept. 3 1890. They where living in
Ellsinore, Carter County at the time the guardianship was done. We know
nothing of her "adopted" family, except she called William "Uncle Bill". We
are searching also for Samuels family. He was born abt 1895. Any help would

This is the first time in using the internet to search for any information on Thomas Paul and Mary (Clayton) Paul. Thomas was son of Stephen and Narcissus (Gresham) Paul. Brother to Mary Jane Paul. Thomas died in 1937 and Mary died In 1948 both buried at Gresham Cemetery. Trying to find out more on Stephen Paul.He was killed by bushwhackers in 1861. I am seeking information on Allen and Nancy Bullock BARGER who lived in Reynolds County, Mo., in the 1850's. Allen and Nancy moved to Reynolds Co. from Ripley Co., Mo. I am also interested in the George Miller, John Clark and Thomas Burton Tull families. My GR-GR-Grandfather, Allen Barger lived in Reynolds County, where, I don't know. I've notice that Carter County was organized from Reynolds County. I am trying to find out if Allen was buried in Carter County.
