Mary was born February 22, 1862 place unknown also. They married January 4,1891 in Grandin, Mo. He died in May 1901( I have two different dates) at home at Pleasant Grove. It is possible that they owned a hotel in Van Buren, Mo. Mary later married a man name ? CROWE. F.A and Mary's children: Pearle, Elizabeth, Maude, James. I would appreciate any information. Sarah was dau of David and Mary WISE who moved from Lincoln Co., NC to Cape Girardeau Co., MO 1810, David was son of Frederick WISE of Lincoln Co., NC whose Family History is now underway and to be published soon. JOSEPH and HANNAH STEVENS/STEPHENS moved to Carter Co. ca 1876. There is an urgent need for descendants to update their records for inclusion in the proposed history as quickly as possible.

Looking for info on the family of Noah CLARK and Charlotta Catherine RECTOR. They were parents of eight sons and three daughters, and Noah had a son from a previous marriage. Noah & Charlotta moved to Indian Territory before 1900. Noah died in 1900 and is buried somewhere in the vicinity of Lake Eufaula, OK. At the time of his death he was living with Mary SHAW. I'm not sure how they were related, but there was a connection. I don't know if Charlotta died before Noah or if she was still alive at the time of his death.

James SNIDER b. 1830 in TN,(son of John W. SNIDER and Anna NEAL SNIDER) married Teresa (Creassy) NEAL in about 1865. They had about 12 children including my great grandfather, Charles Wesley SNIDER. Charles m. Viola Belle NICHOLS and they moved to KS, then CO where Charles d. in abt 1911. Viola Belle NICHOLS parents were Griff NICHOLS and Malinda "Alice" SAVAGE (all three were born in Hickman county TN). Griff died before 1900 and is buried in Shannon County MO. Alice died in Rocky Ford, CO. I have more detailed data on these folks. Teresa NEAL b. 27 Nov 1844, d. aft. 1880, was dau. of Robert NEAL b. abt. 1800 in NC, and Nancy HENDERSON NEAL, b1805 in NC d. 1877 in Carter Co. MO.. Teresa and James SNIDER were first cousins, (married in 1865) and shared a common NEAL grandparent of John NEAL b 1755 in Ireland, d. 1832 Monroe, TN,. I would be interested in corresponding with any interested persons or others who have knowledge of these families.

Nov. 30, 1832 in NC came to Carter County before the Civil War but I can't find any record of exactly when. He m. ELIZABETH RODGERS b. 1836 in Montgomery County, MO and they had two sons, JAMES ISSAC and JOSEPH, before she died. He m.(2) Melvina C. Tinker on April 21, 1875 in Carter County. They had 8 children that I know of. JAMES is my ggrandfather. He m. MARY ELIZABETH MOORE b. Nov. 16, 1877. Her parents were WILLIAM MOORE B. Feb. 7, 1848 and ELIZABETH FRANCIS HANGER b. Dec. 2, 1850. Her parents were PETER and ELIZABETH HANGER. On my grandmothers side were surnames BURNHAM, BLACK, BINGHAM, and CAMDEN. All were from the Carter, Reynolds, and Shannon County area. I am looking for information on A K OLIVER. b 27 1825 in Rockingham County, NC married Mary Jane GREER in Rockingham County, NC 27 October 1853 . They moved to Oregon County before Aug 1876 as Mary Jane is buried near Alton, Mo. A K later moved to Carter County where he married at least two other times. He is supposed to be buried in Carter County, howere I do not know the name of the Cem he is buried in. He died 2 May 1904. His daughter Narcissus Puthina OLIVER BIFFLE is my great-grandmother. She married Joseph BIFFLE 9 Nov 1881 in carter County. I will share what information I about the OLIVER or BIFFLE family with anyone working on the same line. I believe that my great grandparents lived in Carter Co. at one time.  My great grandmother was Elizabeth MORELAND who was born 6 October 1832 in Carter Co., TN.  My great grandfather was Ruberry (or S. Ruberry) DOBBS who was born 13 Feb 1821.  I do not know where he was born.  According to the family Bible, Ruberry and Elizabeth were married 24 Feb 1854 but we do know where.  I have reason to believe that they lived in Carter County in the late 1850's and early 1860's.  Later they lived in Marion Co. and Franklin Counties in Arkansas and Red River and Lamar Counties in Texas. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am researching the MITCHELL family. The earliest known location for my great-grandfather, Flavius Josephus MITCHELL, was in Carter Township in 1860 (according to 1860 Census). He was recorded as Flabe MITCHELL with his wife, Mollie or Mary, and a child whose name I could not read. According to family legend, he and 2 brothers and their families left Carter Co. for Texas soon after the Civil War. On the 1900 TX census it shows that F.J. was born in TN, although my uncles have told me that they were told he came from Ireland. I do not know his brother's names, when they settled in Carter Co. or the year they left. Any help on this search would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there a way that I can find out where Canaan Township was. I would like to come to MO this summer and look for where they lived.

Seeking her name or any information about them. Josuha MORRIS married Luvey HYATT on 18 Feb. 1818 in Ripley County. She died and left him a widower. He remarried an Osage Indian woman, believed around 1865. Looking for any record showing her name or the marriage date. Sadie MORRIS born of this union 3 June 1869. Sadie married James Thomas COLLINS and they lived in Grandin, MO until 1900. May have also been in Carter and Shannon Counties (found a Joshua Morris on Shannon Co 1870 census. Also, I've been trying to find out if Missouri required licensing of Indian Trading Posts? I was told that Josuha operated one, probably in Ripley County near the border as that's where he married his first wife in 1838.
